Raised by his grandparents on a dairy farm, RICO said he appreciated the Goddesses ongoing works including their parades/aktions in DTES, for Breast Cancer Survivors, and fighting violence and poverty issues on behalf of women and children.

Although Fleet Street is consumed with Royal Wedding, journalists found time to chase Sir Paul McCartney through Tate Modern Gallery begging for his response to today's news announcing Lady Justice's May Visit to London, Belfast and Berlin.

Press asked Sir Paul if rumours of reconciliation between him and GODDESS OF JUSTICE might possibly be true???

Insiders from Mount Olympus & London's music scene explained the brief romance between The Beatle and The Goddess of Justice screeched to a halt July 2008 after Sir Paul neglected to speak French to the enthusiastic crowd at music concert in Quebec City celebrating its 400th Anniversary -- this after publicly promising to do so some weeks earlier in response to protests by Quebecois nationalists rallying against the famous Anglo's participation in their French cultural event.

Lady J's supporters explained, "Lady J felt Paul shouldn't have promised to speak French if he wasn't going to follow through."

But Sir Paul's pals respond , "Paul felt betrayed when Lady Justice dropped him after the Quebec City concert and quickly took up with YOKO ONO."

"Scheming" and "Manipulative" were words hurled at Lady Justice by the Famous Beatle's fans when Lady J was glimpsed later that summer dining in New York eateries with infamous artist Yoko.

Today, as LADY JUSTICE left Flight Centre with gal-pals LA DRAGU, VERB WOMAN & nuestra senora del pan, she waved her airplane ticket above her head and laughed gaily to the crowd, "All is fair in LOVE and ART !!!"

"Oh, Fernando!" cried an ebullient Lady Justice, "I am starting to really like this Rock and Roll Lifestyle!!!"

This was heard an hour into the duo's FAB All-Day Bed-In for Peace held at Memories Thrift Store directly across from City Hall for the City of Richmond on Feb 27th, 2010 on the final day of THE 2010 PEACE PROJECT.

"I am so honoured to be one of The Champions of Peace for the 2010 Peace Project!" exclaimed Lady Justice as she snuggled under the covers along with another six happy souls. Group after group of artists, friends, neighbours and community members came with open minds and hearts and ready to sing, laugh and celebrate Yet Another *&^$@&^!!*# Bed-In for Peace. "I was at the first one," said LadyJ, "... and here I am 40 years later. You have to keep the faith and keep on truckin'!"

RWC (Richmond Women's Centre) plus Tammy and Martha welcomed waves of artists, friends, neighbours, community members, tourists, and well-wishers who visited throughout the day bringing their thoughts, energy and intent towards achieving world peace.

Everybody wanted to "catch the peace vibe" chez Memories !!!
The dynamic duo of Lady Justice and Fernando Rey lead the BED-IN crowds in One Minute Silent Meditations for World Peace every half hour throughout the day (later in Newfoundland).

These half hour meditations were humbling and inspiring. It was clear that there is power in individual thought, purpose, hope and breath. And that this power can be a formidable one.
Quiet power was tangible in the store. It crossed generations, language, culture, and expectations.

At the BED-IN for PEACE, Fernando Rey and Lady Justice lead everyone in singing all the choruses for the long version of the re-tooled version of GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. Hip nouvelle vague videographer Timothy Graves shot footage for the upcoming music video of Give Peace a Chance. LADY J and PAYDAY MILLIONAIRE Cut the Mustard with EMMY GEE

River Styxx musician/music producer EMMY GEE brought stylish duo PAYDAY MILLIONAIRE together with LADY JUSTICE to record their re-tune of John Lennon/Yoko Ono's Give Peace a Chance.

The re-tool-ed Give Peace a Chance is scheduled for release after Vancouver Winter Olympics. A pirated track is sweeping thru the internet like a bush fire and pre-release buzz is h-o-t.

TO's NOW music critic described the guitar as "60's surfer with a Highland Fling groove."

Georgia Straight noted the drummer is "rock steady and provides a trampoline for Lady J and Fernando to back and forth smart/silly poetry".

Village Voice described the re-tune as a "must-have antidote to nostalgia and re-enactments" and the group members as "smart people who can't really do anything but are doing it well".

Asked to respond to pre-press assessments, LADY J grinned and replied,

FERNANDO REY helped LADY JUSTICE into local gill-netter docked beside EMMY GEE's studio where they had added finishing touches to final mix. LADY J declared,

"I am thrilled. Every 5000 year old goddess should cut a rock and roll record, don't you think?"

Lady J saluted the papparazzi with her Scales of Justice and she and Fernando sailed off into the sunset aboard a gill-netter captained by a local fisherman. Assembled journalists agreed, "Its only rock and roll -- but we really like it!"

Lady Justice has been seen blazing a social path thru town: she caught His Emminence Grise with Sugar Blues Pete playing blues fusion at local bistro, brunched with The Rose Squad to plan upcoming performances/parades including Olympic event by artist-organizer Flakey Hosehips, aka Cezanne,

and checked in with Verb Woman at Centre A Gallery
for inaugural MENDING AKTION #1.

"This summer is all about grace in space," explained Lady J, "by my balancing staying home and going out."

People.com reports Lady J was glued to the tube for annual Tour de France and has been entertaining goddess gal pals at River Styxx including THE LINE who was unfortunately stung by wasps after feasting with Lady J and Lady Aretha. Ice and ibuprofin saved celebrations from ending at the clinic.

"It's a mega-watt summer!" LADY JUSTICE told Agence France Presse reporters.

LADY JUSTICE refused to be bated by press scrum asking about her lack of funding for this milllenium from Mount Olympus. Laughing and waving, a triumphant Lady J donned bike helmet, packed scales of justice into panniers and said,

Ares (God of War/Lord of the Dance/TV Producer) wants pay-back

from Lady J for always rejecting his sexual advances and Zeus for being the ultimate neglectful father.

3. Ares invites Lady Justice and Zeus to be on the panel for next Mount Olympus Web-cast
Ares pulls a Jerry Springer and brings out Lydia (Queen of Sparta)

to make public her complaint that Zeus (disguised as a swan) raped her.

4. Ares Presents Evidence
Many paintings and poems showing intercourse as both ravishment and as rape.

5. Roaring Zeus & Weeping Lydia bring Near Chaos
“So good for TV ratings,” thinks Ares.

6. Lady J tries to Explain

In accordance with Mount Olympus Sex & Representation Laws (and as a goddess and a feminist) Lady J’s acceptance of the swan as metaphorical rapist means she must accept that her swan and all swans must therefore bear this guilt.
She has only one choice. She must break off her relationship with her Lover Swan and send all the swans away from the River Styxx.

An obviously thrilled LADY J thanked supporters and participants of her performances/installations/videos especially for the Traffic Memorial and Shrine Project whereby LADY JUSTICE visits cites/sites of justice & injustice -- including roadside memorials for hit and run accidents & other deaths.

"It is the act of BEARING WITNESS that is central to my life work as Lady Justice."

Capetown (South African) journalists asked for LADY JUSTICE's reaction to Jonathon Shapiro's winning of Mondi Shanduka Newspaper Award for his controversial cartoon "The Rape of Justice".

The press conference to showcase LADY JUSTICE's Highlights of 2008 turned into a frightening episode for the goddess. Invited to speak about her 2008 Performances at hit and run sites, monuments, & galleries, Lady J was surprised when paparazzi peppered her with questions about her love life instead.
Were the rumours true about LADY JUSTICE and Sir Paul McCartney?
Is LADY JUSTICE still involved romantically with artist Yoko Ono?

LADY J's affair with The Swan that culminated at end of 2008 in a court case at Mount Olympus is a matter of public record. Yet The Press demanded details about her forced public break up with The Swan, her thwarting of ZEUS, and confirmation about rumours of a re-bound love affair with The Magic Peacock.

LADY JUSTICE's attempt at "no comment" through Goddess Priviledge met with cries of disappointment from The Press. They surged around Lady J and jostled by "a press of press", LADY J cracked a bottle of sacred red wine and her salt bag was lanced.
She struggled in the crush of bodies and cameras and finally cried out,

"Let me go or I shall call upon TALOS to grasp you in his fiery embrace until you wear the Sardonic Grin!"

The Press shrunk back in fear. Talos's infamous protection of Crete via fiery embrace to death subdued the paparazzi finally allowing Lady Justice to escape on her bicycle.
She was last seen biking from the crowd: Sword of Justice held high with a trail of red wine and white salt -- disappearing into the horizon.

LADY J's affair with a magical swan became hot gossip some weeks ago despite earlier denials from her gal palz 7 VIRTUES and companions LE FLANEUR & EMMY GEE. LADY JUSTICE's passionate affair with the swan conflagrated an ancient grievance by LEDA (Queen of Sparta) against ZEUS whom she swore disguised himself as a swan and raped her.

"Old news," roared ZEUS throwing bolts of lightning over the heads of the papparazzi, "and there is a statute of limitations on these things!" Flanked by HERA and LEDA, LADY J replied,

"Although there are many paintings and stories depicting rape, ravishment AND seduction, the William Yeats poem is very damning. But it is nothing compared to LEDA's testimony. Yes. I believe ZEUS disguised himself as a swan and raped LEDA the Queen of Sparta."

As LADY JUSTICE left with HERA & LEDA to visit the oracle/spa, EMMY GEE explained to the press that in Mount Olympian Law the burden of symbolism, representation, and guilt is now officially carried by the swan although it was Zeus who executed the crime.

"To recognize ZEUS's crime means that LADY JUSTICE must accept the swan as the metaphorical rapist. LADY JUSTICE, as a goddess and as a feminist, has only one choice. She must send the swans away from the River Styxx and break off her relationship with her swan lover."

SAN ANTONIO — Justice may be blind, but in San Antonio it's naked, too.

A restored 4-foot blindfolded Lady Justice statue in a fountain was on display Monday in front of the Bexar County Courthouse.

Ceremonies were held Sunday night to unveil the renovated statue, with a sword in one hand and scales in the other, atop a globe as part of the J.L. Mott Fountain.

The return of the statue and fountain is part of a $2.6 million courthouse complex restoration project involving the Hidalgo Foundation.

Bexar County bought the statue and fountain from J.L. Mott of New York in 1896, but offered the display to San Antonio in 1927 to make room for a courthouse expansion.

Vandals in 1997 damaged the original Lady Justice statue and the fountain.

Restoration was led by sculptor Gilbert Barrera, who says that in Greek mythology, "bareness and naturalness were a sign of purity, goodness and justice."

ARTEMIS aka The Goddess of the Hunt gave Lady Justice & The 7 Virtues a spectacular farewell banquet for their last night of their month long retreat on Mount Olympus. After dancing/wine-ing/dine-ing, the Goddesses descended to Earth and immediately were met by a large press scrum that had gathered at the base of the mountain.

"We are refreshed!" claimed Kindness/Envy as she organized her goddess pals into cars, taxis & bikes for their journeys home.

Nov 5th
Lady J & Diligence/Sloth lunched at HIDEOUT CAFE in New Westminster to celebrate OBAMA's victory. They walked to New Westminster Courthouse which was the site of The Picton Trials. A crowd of onlookers/press waited hoping that LADY JUSTICE might make one of her legendary memorial performances. Instead, Lady J stood still for 1/2 hr. and gently wept along with her goddess pal. Before the paparazzi could respond, Lady J & Diligence/Sloth covered their eyes with their sunglasses and slipped off to the SKYTRAIN station to head off to the grunt Gallery.

Gallery goers heard Lady Justice explain that "Sometimes all I can do is simply bear witness ... I am more than 5000 yr. old so I have born so much history".

A taxi took an exhausted LADY JUSTICE away from the gallery leaving the crowd speculating if she was perhaps racing to the airport to fly to NYC to see YOKO or if she was dashing off to the River Styxx to the arms of EMMY GEE.
When asked, The 7 Virtues said unanimously, "No Comment".

to recent vandalism of Lady J statuary
in Oregon Courthouse in US of A.

"Great Zeus!" cried an obviously shocked LADY JUSTICE who then swooned into arms of pals FLANEUR & EMMY-GEE.
His Emminence Grise dismissed reporters calling them "vultures and scum" and slapped them briskly about their faces and buttocks.

A slightly calmer Le Flaneur explained to the alarmed Press Scrum that he and Emmy-Gee
attempted to shield Lady J from the news about US vandalism until she was stronger.
LADY JUSTICE is still recovering from thoracic injury from recent yoga retreat with goddess gal pals The 7 Virtues.

"The shock could push her back to the olive oil bottle,"feared IRONING MAN. "Dark Autumn is her vulnerable time," agreed THE LINE. GLENULA of the grunt said hopefully, "Many of Lady J's pals are arriving for LIVE and art always cheers up our LADY JUSTICE."

Vandalism hits US Statue

Crime - ALEX PULASKI "The Oregonian" Staff-Writer reports:

She's 9 feet tall and more than a century old. She's been buffeted by the wind and sat nearly forgotten for years. On Saturday, she was attacked.

The redwood figure, which normally reigns behind glass at the Clackamas County Courthouse in Oregon City, was vandalized by teenager who broke into the building. Computers, doors, walls and desks also were damaged.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a 17-year-old boy, whose name was not released.

Deputies and Oregon City police confronted the teen on the second floor. When he failed to respond to officers' demands, they used a Taser electric stunner to subdue him, said Detective Jim Strovink, a sheriff's spokesman.

The boy, who lives in Oregon City, was taken to a Portland hospital for observation. He had a criminal history that included possession of alcohol and a controlled substance. He is expected to be charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief, Strovink said.

It appears damage to the Lady Justice figure can be repaired, Strovink said.

County Judge "Colonel" William L. White commissioned the figure in the 1880s from an Italian carver for $1,300. Lady Justice stood atop the old courthouse, built in 1884, until the building was demolished in 1935.

The figure sat in storage until the late 1980s, when it was acquired by the Clackamas County Historical Society. The society hired a restorer to bring Lady Justice back to life, and the figure was mounted in the current courthouse's first floor.

Turns out, rumours of Vito's death were greatly exaggerated -- or at least premature.
Flaneur Randy Gledhill took pal Lady J to Romantic Art Couple's bijoux apartment where Charo dosed her with Calvados from her recent tour of the south of France.
Her pals proved art star Vito Acconci was alive and well by Mozilla-ing thru internet hits

It's too bad PARIS HILTON has to wear drab jail-issued duds while doing time.

Celebrity Planet Zine just learned that before Paris was hauled off to the slammer, her parents bought her a sweatshirt that would be fitting for a stint in jail: the front of the navy blue Faith Connexion hoodie is emblazoned with the word "Faith" in beige lettering. The back features an image of two hands held together in prayer along with the words wisdom, faith, trust, justice, hope, charity and love.

LADY JUSTICE sent a telegramme of sympathy & her best wishes to 60's rock star WAYNE FONTANA in London after rocker faced Judge Andrew Hamilton who packed him off to jail, saying: "He has come dressed as a fool and he wants to act like a fool. I hope they give him a prison uniform at Nottingham to keep him warm."

Fontana, 61, appeared under his real name of Glyn Ellis at Derby Crown Court accused of setting light to a debt collector's car while the man was inside.

In protest at his prosecution, he wore a crown and home-made cape for yesterday's hearing but had to hand in his cardboard sword and scales - actually a kitchen colander - to security guards.

but they left a dozen battered/bruised/humiliated SMURFS
bound and gagged to their choppers.

Billy-Boo (Smurf spokesman) admitted the gang sold the Sword of Justice earlier that day

"to some dude on E-Bay -- a collector -- calls himself KLAUS the Kollector. The Furies beat on us for nothing! "

RCMP continue to investigate.

along with famous artists David Khang, Warren Arcan & Randy Gledhill.

LADY J arrived home at midnight and received
a KIDNAP RANSOM NOTE (see below) :

Turns out, the joke was on Lady J's pal Randy. Flaneur/Artist/Exec-Director of LIVE Biennale
originally took Lady Justice's sword "as a joke"
explained EMMIE GEE.

But Vancouver bike gang THE SMURFS
turned the tables
by posing as Lady J's henchmen. They grabbed both Randy & The Sword of Lady Justice and then demanded ransom for the release of both!

EMMIE GEE said LADY J promised
"certain favours in lieu of $"
to THE SMURF gang
for the safe return of both Randy& her beloved sword.
But, when the ransom was paid, the notorious gang pulled a double double cross
and handed over Randy
-- but not THE SWORD OF JUSTICE.

Randy is recovering safe at home, continued the spokesman for Lady J,
"in his James Bond apartment --shaken but not stirred"
while Lady J plans "a few weekends off
to attend yoga camp," concluded EMMIE GEE.

Sword Theft Denied

Reports that Lady Justice's double-edged sword was stolen last month are being hotly denied by family & friends.
Lady J intimate, Randy Gledhill, (artist-flâneur/flanneur & Exec-Director of LIVE Biennale) spoke with Global & City TV saying,
"The usual rumour-mill saying her sword was snatched by government agents and/or organized crime is, natch, a load of hooey!"

Arriving by train from Tampa, Florida to the architecturally exquisite Vancouver VIA Rail station, Lady Justice removed her trademark blue sunglasses
for photo-op and seemed relaxed
while admitting to "a little cash flow problem" due to unsuccessful art grant applications.

Randy Gledhill confessed he'd seen Lady J's beloved sword
in local Van pawn shoppe
but assured the media that, "Lady Justice
always rises like a phoenix from the flame."

Lady Justice told In Truth Weekly she was "used to criticism over public art".

Chums of Lady J (aka La Dragu) said she was cool and calm in response to recent controversy surrounding her unveiling in Tampa, Florida; USA. Some Tampa residents were shocked by her "clingy toga and cascade of brassy dreadlocks" but an unruffled Lady Justice signed autographs at Amtrak station before her departure to Montreal.

Instead, Lady J gave her loyal fans a "Buyer Beware" bulletin re: fake Lady J imagery on E-Bay like wine cannister (at left) & stationery holder (below). "I hate to see my fans rooked by cheaters," said Lady J as she sheathed her sword after the press conference, put on her sunglasses, and left with Grrrrl Team 7 VIRTUES for Greyhound bus to their next destination.

On February 27th, 2007 I visited the infamous BOX SALON in Toronto at the Rivoli on Queen Street. Artist Louise Bak (seen background wearing white gloves - below right) introduced me to her assembled court saying:

THE BOX is pleased to present .... Margaret Dragu aka La Dragu ... or "La" ... or Lady Justice ... or sometimes just Lady J .... formerly called Justita, and earlier Themis and Ma'at.

Louise continued:
